Dr. Brenda Mohr
Dr. Brenda Mohr teaches grades 7-12 choirs at Loma Linda Academy. She graduated from the University of Washington (Seattle) in 2017 with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting. While in graduate school, Dr. Mohr directed the 60-voice University Congregational Church Sanctuary Choir, University of Washington Women’s Choir and Recital Choir, along with teaching conducting classes, accompanying various choral ensembles, and serving as a church organist/pianist in the Seattle area.
Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Mohr taught choral music grades 5-12 at Glendale Adventist Academy, and served as a church choir director and organist at several churches in the Los Angeles area. She is a recipient of the Zapara Excellence in Teaching Award, the Adventist Alumni Achievement Foundation’s Excellence in Teaching Award, and the “Outstanding University of Washington Women” award. Choirs under her direction have consistently received superior ratings at local festivals, won competitions, and travelled regionally and nationally. She is active as a choral adjudicator and clinician.
When she isn’t directing choirs, Dr. Mohr and her husband, Craig Mohr (LLA Band Director), enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, camping, and cycling.
